Product description

Make the cot nice a cosy with organic bedding from Classic Textiles of Sweden. This simple yet charming bed set has the line "Bä bä vita lamm..." from the nursery rhyme ‘Baa baa black sheep’ embroidered on the white duvet cover. Only the best is good enough when it comes to the little ones, and with our organic bed linen you can invest in bedding that is good for both the children's present and future. Both pillowcases and duvet covers are made from 100 percent organic cotton, while in production we work to have as little negative impact on the environment as possible. In other words, it's a bed set that allows both you and your child to sleep well at night.

Material

We are proud to say that this product is made from 100 percent organic cotton, something that has a variety of benefits. This means that the cotton is grown completely without chemical pesticides and artificial fertilizers, and that the land where the cotton is grown has been free of chemicals for at least three years. Another advantage is that cultivation is alternated with other crops, and a good balance between plants and natural manure improves the humus content in the soil. This makes the cultivation an ideal environment for small animals and insects, which reduces pest infestation of the crops.

We have also made the dyeing process more sustainable, in that the waste water is purified, partly biologically, and then reused. In this case, biological means that we add fertilizer in the form of cow manure to the waste water. This adds useful bacteria that naturally digest the chemicals before they sink to the bottom. The purified water still contains a certain amount of salt, and therefore most of it is reused for new dyeing where salt is needed. The remaining water is transported to a "solar bed" where it evaporates before the residual salt is taken care of. Our production takes place in a part of the world where the availability of clean water cannot be taken for granted. Therefore, this is an incredibly important part of our work to have as little negative environmental impact as possible.

By finding more climate-friendly solutions and using organic cotton and sustainable textiles, we can offer our customers a greener way of shopping, with as little negative environmental impact as possible. The production is certified according to:

· GOTS is an international environmental label for textiles that covers both social and environmental requirements. The certification means that the production and the product are tested for chemicals and heavy metals. This covers the entire life cycle from raw material to finished product. From preparation, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trade and distribution. GOTS' purpose is to make it easier for the consumer to choose textile products where both environmental and social responsibility have been taken into account. The abbreviation stands for Global Organic Textile Standard.

· OCS – certified raw material means that we can verify and trace organically grown material in our final product. The abbreviation Organic Content Standard is issued and administered by the organization Textile Exchange. It is a label for organic textile material, which guarantees organic content in the product.

· STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® – the world's leading label for textiles, accessories and products tested for the content of substances harmful to health. The certification means that the product meets high human ecological requirements, and does not contain chemicals in levels that are harmful to health. The certification must also guarantee that the finished product does not cause allergy problems.

· SEDEX – certification means that we are members of the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange. It is a global and non-profit membership organization that drives improvements for responsible and ethical business practices in global supply chains, including when it comes to work environment, recruitment, employee rights and compliance with environmental legislation. Sedex is also an online database used by more than 65,000 members in over 150 countries, enabling companies to store and display data on ethical and responsible business practices. Membership ensures that companies in the supply chain behave fairly, understand the impact of new regulations on business operations in a timely manner and reduce risks in a rapidly changing, interconnected business environment.
